THE HISTORY OF TASTEE WHEAT

TASTEE WHEAT has been a staple on the shelves of families the world over since 1921.

Bratislav Manukau, the creator of TASTEE and TASTEE WHEAT, and a pioneer in the world of artificial foods, migrated to the sleepy town of Imichanga, Iowa in 1908, where he built a tiny farmhouse and settled down with his young wife, Mischka. Both Bratislav and Mischka were keen to have healthy, energetic and happy children, and felt that the basic principal of having energy, and maintaining it, was eating a breakfast containing all the essential nutrients your body needs. Grandpa Bratislav, as he is fondly known by everyone in Imichanga, decided then to create the perfect meal, an inexpensive meal that was best for breakfast, but suitable at any hour of the day. This perfect meal had to contain EVERYTHING YOUR BODY NEEDS!

For years Grandpa tried to grow wheat for his big idea in his fields in the Imichanga Valley, but the icy climate and ill nourished soil made his efforts futile. In desperation he built a tiny laboratory in the attic of his farmhouse and turned toward artificially creating the necessary ingredients for a healthy, vital and tasty meal. A decade of experimentation followed, all with the breakfast plates of the Manukau children!

Finally, the day came when his youngest daughter looked up at him while spooning his latest experiment into her mouth, and said, "This is tasty, Daddy". That was when he knew he'd done it, he'd broken the barrier of it being nutritious, and moved into the realms of good taste.

Bratislav Manukau named his first invention, TASTEE. It was, and still is, created totally synthetically and economically. A few years later, TASTEE WHEAT was developed in exactly the same way.
