OK,
we've
got TV spots. How close are we until the release of the theatrical
trailer?
You
can see it in theaters this weekend.
Any sooner?
Television gets it tomorrow.
Will it be at the official site?
Yes.
Will it be high res?
Of course. We're encoding from 2K source files, which is the
resolution of the trailer in theaters; in short, we're
drawing on as clear and high resolution
an image as exists.
What is the length?
Longer than the three TV spots combined.

Our update yesterday was rather well received, with some one

For those still hungry, here's more.
The production for THE MATRIX: RELOADED/REVOLUTIONS, with filming
on two continents, ran for longer than most films, over one year
of principal
photography. The majority of films are shot within three months.
Hundreds of crew and dozens of departments made these sequels
possible.
It is not unusual for the head of departments to create keepsakes
for their respective crew members. For THE MATRIX: RELOADED/REVOLUTIONS,
nearly one hundred items were produced by all the various departments
in both the United States and Australia. This is a massive amount,
and
suggests, for the vast majority of the crew, this was far more
than a job. There is no union rule about crew swag. All of these
items were
produced as a means to remember working on a project few wanted
to leave.
With roughly 250 photos -- and simply because many of these items
are too cool not to be seen -- here is THE MATRIX: RELOADED/REVOLUTIONS:
Crew
Swag
While talking of the hard working crew, our introductions continue.
This latest collection of interviews delineates the difference
between a "grip" and "key grip", why safety
is not something to trifle with when you have over nine hundred
extras
on a man-made
set, as well as many more details straight from the filming
itself.

April 28th, 2003-------------------------
It seems you can't turn around without bumping into a new Matrix trailer.
Many film trailers traditionally show all the "best" bits,
leaving little new to be seen in the film itself. For those that have
braved seeing them all, have you seen everything? Do you really need
us to tell you the answer? Some have been heard saying, "So we've
heard about the VFX, seen glimpses, but will there be any 'noodle baking'
scenes? Yes. In spades. If you have to ask what a "noodle baking"
scene is, it is best you do not download the trailers. Go to your local
rental shop, ASAP, and see THE MATRIX. Or, wait in front of your FOX
affiliate approximately two weeks (quickly turning the TV off when the
trailers air).
Did we mention there is enough material in THE MATRIX: RELOADED to support
yet more than is currently released? Good, because the number of trailers
are growing, daily, and they are in full assault-mode rotation on numerous
television stations. Fast cuts and faster glimpses of things yet not
seen are tauntingly found in each of the numerous spots. Should you
see them? No. The best way to see THE MATRIX: RELOADED is cold, with
no pre-knowledge (besides, of course, the small underground '99 film,
THE MATRIX).
However, if you're here, you have likely already seen the spots. Or
are looking for them. The choice remains yours. See "NO ESCAPE"

By checking out our download page for the new
trailer, regulars might notice one item missing from the
list of options. On Thursday, we quietly 0x98765432
pre-released an ultra sized version of the trailer. Many hundreds of
thousands of downloads later, we're offering it now for general release.
Not for old computers, this file is nearly 100MB and has a resolution
that far surpasses DVD. Pulled right off the editing Avid, this 1000x540,
24 frames a second, progressive version of the trailer is easily among
the highest resolutions being offered for download anywhere. Have you
seen this version yet? Can you handle it? Download it here
(but please note the warning before downloading, as this is not for
anything but the strongest of machines).
Since putting the new trailer up this weekend, the servers have truly
been put to task, passing over 40 terabytes (the equivalent of roughly
eight million mp3's). The new trailer alone saw over one and half million
downloads. This is an unbelievable amount of data. Amazingly, the servers
held.
The weekend also saw a dramatic rise in the number of magazine covers.

For
those wondering when on the 26th we are posting the trailer,

that in some parts of the world it is already the 27th (New Zealand,
Australia, and Japan, for example), it might be better for us

THE
MATRIX trailer. On TV. On your computer. Super Bowl Sunday.
When
the time arrives, and to avoid any undue stress to the body, we recommend
viewers remain seated and have liquids on hand. Chips are optional.

does not sound right.
